How these games work
Every game uses the Brickit “hands-on first” cycle:
- Sort to reduce chaos and define categories (like waste streams).
- Scan to introduce “technology + constraints” (what we can and can’t see).
- Choose to build ownership and decision-making (“What will we try?”).
- Build to prototype systems and test ideas in a safe, playful way.
- Measure + reflect so learning is visible (contamination %, throughput, team reasoning).
Note: accepted materials vary by location — always check local program rules (especially for glass and cartons).

Ready-to-run games
Contamination Busters
A fast sorting game: teams reduce “wrong items in the bin”, run two rounds, and see contamination drop.
30–45 minBin-to-Bale Relay
A systems game: model the journey from curbside bin to bale, identify failure points, and improve the flow.
30–45 minZero Waste Mission
A redesign challenge: rebuild with fewer parts, more reuse, and clear “reduce-first” thinking.
35–50 minSDG Build & Pitch
Teams build an SDG-themed model (12/13/11/6) and pitch one action with evidence from their build.
